Suli Ning Lubao (SNL) participated in the brigada eskwela of Lubao Elementary School (LES). This event, held in preparation for the new school year, involved the cleaning and fixing of the classrooms and the decoration of the school premises to make them more presentable, especially now that face-to-face classes will resume.
According to Annette L. Tolentino, the LES Brigada Leader, the event made a significant impact on the school. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, their school was turned into an isolation facility, which caused a lot of damage and neglect to the classrooms. Many classrooms were destroyed and needed to be repaired, and the offices were eaten by termites.
However, the contribution of SNL, which included cleaning and fixing the classrooms, was greatly appreciated. When asked about the importance of the program, Tolentino emphasized that the safety of the students is their top priority.
“The main goal of this program is for the safety of the students and for a safe return to school. We need to ensure the safety of the students, especially since the school is their second home,” she said.
In addition to the cleaning and fixing of the classrooms and offices, LES also conducted disinfection and fogging to ensure the safety of the students when they return to school.
The LES also invited the SNL to participate in the brigada eskwela event, which shows how important it is to have a strong community relationship. The SNL’s contribution to the school is a great example of how a community can come together to support and improve the education of its youth.
